Branding with a Fine Tooth Comb

Pastor Burgs’ is a man of vision and apostleship. He has a vision for his church and we were so excited to sit, listen and ponder how we could meaningfully contribute to the work God was already doing in his life. “Branding with a Fine Tooth Comb” is our method involving questions and in-depth discussions about everything we can about his church and how he talks about it in his personal life and if that lines up with how it is presented on the site. We took the time to become lock step with his voice and vision so we could provide simplicity and clarity for how to make Movement Church Network’s Digital Platform everything it could possibly be, a word for word analysis of their church. Clarity in branding helped foster the incredible 988% increase in engagement. To be clear, we did not rebrand Movement Church Network, we listened and suggested different approaches based on what we heard and the results continue to boggle us all!

Simplifying Navigation & Access to Content

Movement Church Network presented a goal of simplicity and directness in its website navigation and functionality. That’s why we decided to use words like Watch, Connect, and Support. On their page instead of the typical, Messages, Get Involved and Give. In discussions we found that these words presented a greater sense of invitation and partnership as opposed to obligation and compulsion. To simplify access to content, we created a blog and created a public archive of Pastor Dre’s extensive library of pre-existing content onto that blog so that it could become a centralized resource that is accessible and searchable to anyone interested in the work God is doing through their ministry.

Creating a Weekly Touchpoint

How can we begin to engage new people when systems are not in place to engage and attract your current audience? We developed a weekly email that sends out minutes before Dre’s weekly message so that his congregation can have a direct portal to engaging with their church online. The weekly email features three buttons that direct to their weekly sermon watch party, their connect page and their support page and is followed up by all of the content posted from the previous week directly below. We’ve seen engagement on this channel triple and website retention increase from 5% to 20%
